The Results of Cleaning With Alka Seltzer
I would say it works. A little brushing and it was good. Now to do some more parts.
First cut
So yesterday I did a good look over of the drive system. All the wiring although old looks to be in really good shape and so does the motor. The belt wasn’t in as bad of shape as I had thought so I left it in place.
The motor drive pulley. Still a bit dust but not bad.
The info plate for the motor.
I am trying the Alka Seltzer trick I found on one of the forums to take the rust off this bit. I will post up the results when its done.
So I set it up as a saw to cut a small board that will be used to keep a fish tank pump from making noise. Nothing exciting but its the first use.
Starting to Clean Her Up
So last night we started getting her cleaned up a bit. Zachary decided he would help daddy do the sanding work on the rails.

Concentrating very hard on sanding.
Tonight we are getting the new belt and going to figure out how to do the switch out.
The Before Photos

Here she is before any of the restoration is started. Besides being dirty and having minor rust on some parts she is in much better shape then some of the ones I have seen online. The only thing she really needs is a new belt, the one that is on it is old and should be replaced.
A shot of the name plate with the serial number.
Here is a picture of the rust on the rails. Its just bad enough to make moving the pieces hard but its still very workable.
Hi All!
